How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?
How many hours of training do you have?
Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?
I chose to become a massage therapist because I saw the amazing effects of touch, and how it assists the body’s natural healing response.
Where did you go to school for massage?
How do you describe your massage/work to others?
A heart-centered listening to be a part of a person’s best wholeness.
What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?
I like Hot Stone therapy: this relaxing tool for massage creates a deeper release of muscles, as if the stones take on the memory of the distress. Lymphatic Drainage is wonderful on all levels of balancing the body. Prenatal massage assists a mum in bringing peace to her body during the process of bringing life. Equine massage interests me because I believe in the therapy between ourselves and horses.
How has receiving massage affected you personally?
In receiving massage, I become a better therapist. There is a release of what stands in the way of forward movement, therefore with room I grow in my sense of intuition and have a keener way to help others.
What do you do to stay healthy?
I am drawn to all things in nutrition, information as well as practice. I enjoy yoga, running, outdoor adventure, prayer and spending time with my family and friends.
What do you like about working at Myo Massage?
The team at Myo Massage care about others and the reflection keeps this positive response going forward.
What is Lymphatic Drainage and who do you recommend it for?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle rhythmic technique with a powerful effect of encouraging movement of the lymph fluid just under the skin, aiding the filtration of the cells. Within us all there is an active but sometimes silent system working to keep us healthy, the lymph system. A better functioning lymph system can lead to a host of wonderful results in building the immune system for restored vitality. Lymphatic Drainage is recommended for all who breathe and live and especially helpful for those with allergies, swelling, pains of a chronic nature and pre/post surgery, which may interrupt the lymphatic flow.
