This class draws from Pilates, dance and martial arts to explore core activation as a system of dynamic strength while maintaining ease throughout the body, playing with fluidity, lengthened strength, and spirals to generate power of motion.
The goal is activating the core in a functional, integrated way; not so much endless crunches as stabilization, pain relief, and exploration of full potential. When the core, and in particular the deepest core muscle, the Transverse Abdominus, is healthy and activated we experience more freedom of movement, straighter posture and reduced low back pain.
