Erin McCabe has a passion for making people feel good in their bodies, for the short term on the table and for the long term in between. She enjoys investigating the repetitive movements and behaviors that create chronic tension, and offering ways to avoid that tension at work, home, and play. Previously a desk worker and on-site corporate massage therapist, she considers relieving “desk stress” a specialty. She has studied ergonomic principles and can offer tips for improving work stations. As a former sufferer of TMJ, she specializes in relieving jaw tension and headaches. Erin also has extensive experience with athletes and exercisers of all types.

Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?

I have been massaging my family and friends from a young age, it seemed to come naturally to me, and I enjoy helping people feel good in their bodies.

Texas Healing Arts Institute.

How do you describe your massage/work to others?

Customized to the client’s preference, above all. Firm, flowing and intuitive. Specific deep tissue work combined with parasympathetic engagement to relieve acute pain or improve chronic concerns.

What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?

I would like to pursue training in structural integration modalities and further my knowledge of myofascial release because of their ability to create long-term change.

How has receiving massage affected you personally?

Massage has helped me recover from injuries, prevent injuries, relieve pain, release stress, learn new techniques for my practice and simply maintain my body. It changed my worldview by proving how capable of self-healing every body is.

What do you do to stay healthy?

I committed myself to movement during my time at home in 2020 and continued my habits into the new year. I’ve built strength, endurance and flexibility, and the mental impact has been immeasurable. My movement practice also retaught me the need for various forms of recovery and prehab (stretching, foam rolling, massage) to avoid injury.

What do you like about working at Myo Massage?

Everyone I work with is experienced and knowledgeable; true professionals who are passionate about bodywork and helping people. Also I love the music choices!
