I have been practicing massage therapy since 2020, working with a diverse range of clients in settings such as a cancer center, mobile massage, and a sports clinic. I am a proud graduate of the Institute for Massage Education in Michigan. In addition to my massage training, I hold a NASM Certification in Personal Training and have recently become certified in Lymphatic Drainage. My approach to massage is both intuitive and collaborative, blending relaxation with firm, therapeutic techniques as needed. I focus on engaging clients during the session, using my knowledge of anatomy and active engagement techniques to ensure a truly personalized experience.
How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?
I have been a therapist for four years.
How many hours of training do you have?
625 hours
Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?
I chose to pursue a career in massage therapy because I have always been passionate about helping others. From the moment I received my first massage during my studies, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I am continually fascinated by the human body and how massage can support well-being. Being able to connect with people on a deeper level, while contributing to their physical and emotional health, is incredibly rewarding for me.
Where did you go to school for massage?
Institute for Massage Education in Michigan.
How do you describe your massage/work to others?
I would describe my work as a blend of relaxation and therapeutic techniques. I strive to truly listen to what my clients share while also tuning in to what their tissues communicate. I combine my intuition with a deep understanding of the human body to create a productive and personalized session. My approach involves working into a firm pressure, allowing the tissues to warm up before gradually increasing intensity. If you’re on my table, you can expect a session that incorporates stretching, active engagement techniques, and collaborative work to help you achieve your wellness goals.
What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?
I’m extremely interested in Thai massage because I love the idea of offering clients a fully-clothed massage while guiding them through different assisted stretches. I’m also wanting to learn about massage for premature babies. As a premature baby myself, the thought of helping parents connect with their newborns sooner is deeply meaningful to me. Touch can support weight gain and neurodevelopment, so I believe that massage could be a valuable resource in helping these babies go home sooner.
How has receiving massage affected you personally?
Massage has helped me get out of my head and more in tune with my body. I also see it as an essential part of my self-care routine. It’s very meditative for me because it creates a space where I can focus on my breathing and listen to what my body is telling me. You always learn something new when receiving a massage, and I believe that finding a therapist you truly connect with is an important part of the experience
What do you do to stay healthy?
I love to move! You can find me at the gym lifting, stretching, or practicing handstands. I also love being outdoors, whether I’m walking or simply relaxing in the grass. And, of course, I enjoy receiving massages as well!
What do you like about working at Myo Massage?
I enjoy working at Myo because the other therapists and the entire staff are incredibly kind and supportive. Everyone is so helpful, which creates a positive and welcoming environment.
