Acupuncture is one branch of Chinese Traditional Medicine, along with Chinese herbs, nutrition, home care/exercise, and massage. It uses very thin, sterile needles (about the thickness of a human hair) to stimulate points along the acupuncture meridians, correcting the imbalances that underlie discomfort and disease and allowing the body to heal itself.

Acupuncture is gentle, safe and appropriate for a wide range of conditions. The World Health Organization has stated that acupuncture has proven effectiveness through controlled trials for 28 diseases, symptoms and conditions and has shown therapeutic benefit in trials to over 80 others.
