I am a 2023 graduate of Avenue Five Institute, where I completed more than 750 hours of massage therapy training. After graduation, I continued developing my skills through Myo’s mentorship program, CE courses and education focusing on recent research and studies regarding bodywork.
My practice has evolved into a highly individualized approach focused on helping clients better understand and manage pain, tension, and dysfunction in their bodies. I have a particular interest in working with chronic and complex pain, including clients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), and other conditions where approaches to effective pain management massage may not always be the same from individual to individual.
My goal as a massage therapist is to listen first. I believe the client is the expert on their own experience, and effective bodywork should be collaborative rather than something that is simply “done” to them. I combine what you tell me with what I observe through palpation, movement, and tissue response to create a session tailored to what your body needs that day.
My work is muscle-specific and anatomy-driven, incorporating deep tissue, neuromuscular techniques, myofascial work, trigger point therapy, and Swedish massage as appropriate. Rather than assuming that more pressure equals better results, I focus on using the right technique, in the right place, at the right intensity. This is especially important when working with hypermobile bodies, chronic pain, compensation patterns, previous injuries, and areas that have become sensitive from years of guarding or overuse.
Above all, I want my clients to feel safe, heard, and comfortable communicating with me. Whether you are dealing with a complicated pain pattern, recovering from an injury, experiencing persistent neck, shoulder, hip, or low-back tension, or simply want thoughtful and effective massage, my goal is to meet you where you are and work with you toward feeling and functioning better in your body.
How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?
March of 2024
How many hours of training do you have?
750+
Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?
I wanted a career where I could use my natural empathy in order to help people heal as well as provide and safe and stress free environment
Where did you go to school for massage?
Avenue Five Institute
How do you describe your massage/work to others?
Deep and detail oriented, but aware of my clients pain and tolerance level (which can change on a daily basis). I tailor each session to the client that is on my table. It is their time and their experience. If deep work isn’t in the cards for that day, we do whatever the client needs at that moment.
What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?
Neuromuscular, Lymph drainage, Oncology, Cupping
How has receiving massage affected you personally?
I have struggled with the challenges of being hypermobile and having Elhers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) my whole life. Both receiving massage and becoming a therapist has allowed me to learn more about and care for my own body effectively. Also, being neurodivergent and having particular sensory issues, massage has historically been one of the few things that would calm and reduce my anxiety overall.
What do you do to stay healthy?
Yoga, Feldenkrais, Swimming, and prioritizing self-care
What do you like about working at Myo Massage?
Ever since I started my mentorship at the beginning of 2024, I’ve aspired to be the type of therapist that Myo hires. A skilled therapist that prioritizes knowledge and an anatomy-based perspective in order to reduce pain and increase mobility and quality of life.
