How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?
Since June 2021
How many hours of training do you have?
750+ CEUs
Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?
I used to give my mom neck massages when I was younger. When I was about 12 at career day at school they had us take a test to see what sort of job would suit us, and Massage Therapist ended up being my result. It stuck with me!
Where did you go to school for massage?
Avenue Five Institute here in Austin, TX.
How do you describe your massage/work to others?
Deep, slow, intentional, detail-oriented, while blending in some flow and soothing touch.
What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?
Craniosacral therapy has interested me since doing a 2-week mini course on it in school. I’ve had good experiences practicing and receiving the work. I’m also interested in Rolfing to deepen my knowledge about the body.
How has receiving massage affected you personally?
Being hyper-mobile and having fibromyalgia, I had a lot of tension to work through. Discovering what hurt and why helped me work on correcting bad patterns, such as my sleep posture. I’ve also had a lot of much-needed emotional release through deep, targeted massage and craniosacral therapy.
What do you do to stay healthy?
Yoga, pilates, strength training, taking supplements, and eating lots of protein!
What do you like about working at Myo Massage?
I love how client-focused they are, and management is so on top of everything! I’ve just started and I already feel very welcomed by the team.
