I am a 2023 graduate of Avenue Five Institute having completed over 750 hours of training. My dedication to learning didn’t stop at graduation, as I then elected to begin Myo’s mentoringship program and worked 1-on-1 with owner, Levi Cory, where he provided invaluable feedback in order to deepen my knowledge and experience in massage. I love what I do and my work has grown into a passion and mission to connect with individuals of all walks of life and help through the power of touch and a deep knowledge of the body.
My goal as an LMT is to hold space for my client, LISTEN to them, and collaborate with them. All while providing my knowledge and expertise, but never bulldozing or dismissing their experience, therefore, creating an environment that allows them to be able receive bodywork that THEY need during each and every session. I pride myself on my ability to make every client feel comfortable and safe while providing muscle-specific deep tissue, neuromuscular, and Swedish massage techniques.
A unique service that I provide is a type of deep tissue Hot Stone work. Many clients that I see have complaints of “coat hanger” pain (neck, shoulder & upper back), or related lower back pain. While these areas cause a lot of discomfort in daily life, they can also be very painful to get worked on. In my experience, using Hot Stones in order to perform specific, very deep tissue techniques has helped many of my clients be able to endure deeper work, therefore, allowing for speedier recovery. While working full time as a therapist, I’ve administered this treatment on many people and different body types and in doing so, I have developed a very effective technique that incorporates Hot Stones while using a combination of cross-fiber friction and instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM).
How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?

March of 2024

How many hours of training do you have?

750+

Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?

I wanted a career where I could use my natural empathy in order to help people heal as well as provide and safe and stress free environment

Where did you go to school for massage?

Avenue Five Institute

How do you describe your massage/work to others?

Deep and detail oriented, but aware of my clients pain and tolerance level (which can change on a daily basis). I tailor each session to the client that is on my table. It is their time and their experience. If deep work isn’t in the cards for that day, we do whatever the client needs at that moment.

What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?

Neuromuscular, Lymph drainage, Oncology, Cupping

How has receiving massage affected you personally?

I have struggled with the challenges of being hypermobile and having Elhers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) my whole life. Both receiving massage and becoming a therapist has allowed me to learn more about and care for my own body effectively. Also, being neurodivergent and having particular sensory issues, massage has historically been one of the few things that would calm and reduce my anxiety overall.

What do you do to stay healthy?

Yoga, Feldenkrais, Swimming, and prioritizing self-care

What do you like about working at Myo Massage?

Ever since I started my mentorship at the beginning of 2024, I’ve aspired to be the type of therapist that Myo hires. A skilled therapist that prioritizes knowledge and an anatomy-based perspective in order to reduce pain and increase mobility and quality of life.
