Book with Aimee

Aimee started her massage training in 2008. She is passionate therapist committed to curating each massage session to the individual needs of each client. Her practice is integrative: combining clinical bodywork techniques as well as an intuitive flow. She uses her knowledge as an herbalist, yoga teacher, and ex-nursing student to create a holistic experience for clients– including self care education so you can take the wellness practice home with you. After overcoming her own pain and health issues over the years, Aimee has a deep understanding of what it takes to move through profound pain and stress and make it to the other side stronger. She is here to empower you to do the same!
How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?

Started school in 2008, became licensed in 2009.

How many hours of training do you have?

At least 1500 hours. Not including yoga teacher training, herbalist studies or nursing courses.

Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?

My friends told me that I should go to massage school because I was so good at giving shoulder rubs. I listened and never looked back! I’m grateful to be able to spend my life helping others find wellness.

Where did you go to school for massage?

Texas Healing Arts Institute.

How do you describe your massage style to others?

It is integrative and holistic. I take the many styles and techniques I have learned over the years and blend them based on each client. I can be gentle and flowing, or deep and straight forward. I strive to achieve long lasting releases within the myofascial system without stressing the nervous system. Clients also always say I have a very calming presence.

How has receiving massage affected you personally?

It has given me a way to help my body withstand whatever life throws at me. It was the gateway drug on my wellness journey. From helping me recover from a major car accident, surviving cancer treatment and multiple surgeries, and just getting through day-to-day life sometimes. Massage has been a key ingredient to my health and wellbeing over the years.

What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?

I’m interested in everything! I am a forever student. To narrow it down to a couple… I would love to train in Active Isolated Stretching to continue to merge movement and strengthening techniques into my practice. CranioSacral Therapy is another technique I’ve been interested in, to continue to blend more subtle, yet profound, body work into my session.

What do you do to stay healthy?

Yoga, Dance, Acupuncture, Herbs, Healthy Food choices, Time in Nature, Regular Massage.

What do you like about working at Myo Massage?

I’m surrounded by brilliant and wonderful people every day. There’s so much opportunity to learn, grow and thrive while being supported by this community of incredibly talented therapists as well as our compassionate management and front desk crew! I’m a lucky gal.
