Yin Yoga
This class gives students an hour to pause and reflect on how the body is opening and unwinding in each of the asana shapes we utilize throughout the class to go deeper. It. places emphasis on appropriate depth, stillness, and sustaining the shape. Each asana we take throughout our yin practice is held for between 1-5minutes providing more time for our connective tissue to unwind from our daily contraction and tightening. Over time this focused attention increases agility in our body, breath, and our life as a whole. As we get older, the connective tissue, if not stretched, stops regeneration. A yin style of practice can help to maintain the elasticity of the tissues. Exercising the connective tissue, to some, is seen as the fountain of youth.
