How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?

I have been licensed since 2021

How many hours of training do you have?

575+

Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?

I always wanted to be a part of helping people feel better. I pursued several avenues trying to find the right fit; natural medicine, social work and homeopathy. When the pandemic hit, the importance of human connection and touch was really driven home. Once I started seeing first-hand how much massage can affect health and well-being, I knew this was a career that would always feel rewarding.

Where did you go to school for massage?

I went to Lauterstein-Conway school for Massage.

How do you describe your massage/work to others?

I describe my work as intuitive, intentional and focused. I particularly like working on “stuck” areas to improve range-of-motion and alleviate more chronic tension. I take pride in my ability to be patient and work through and warm tissue layers for deep work with less pain, for those who may not be able to tolerate deep work otherwise.

What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?

I’m very interested in furthering my MLD pursuit because I am fascinated by the lymphatic system. It’s incredible to me how much is happening in our interstitial space and I get really excited about learning new things. I would also like to learn craniosacral therapy because I saw what a difference it made for my father through some life-changing medical events.

How has receiving massage affected you personally?

Receiving massage has helped me heal psychological trauma through releasing areas of associated stored tension. It also completely alleviated carpal tunnel syndrome that was previously debilitating.

What do you do to stay healthy?

I focus on hydration, getting good sleep, quality time with loved ones and a plant-based diet.

What do you like about working at Myo Massage?

Myo offers an environment for growth for therapists and feels like a community where everyone is willing to help everyone else.
