Book with Katherine

Katherine Sobolewski has been a practicing massage therapist since 2017. Her focus is on resolving injuries and pain patterns to provide relief that outlasts the session. She uses a combination of myofascial release, deep, corrective friction, and stretching to break up adhesions and restore pain-free mobility. In addition to massage, Katherine stays active with running, swimming, yoga, group meditation, and spending time with her friends, family, and fur babes.
How long have you been a licensed massage therapist?

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2017.

How many hours of training do you have?

I have over 850 hours in training, including 600 hours for my initial licensure and 250+ hours in continuing education.

Why did you choose massage therapy as your career?

I became a massage therapist because I find it so, so rewarding to transform a client’s pain into relief.

Where did you go to school for massage?

My initial licensure was through the New School for Massage, Bodywork, and Healing in IL. I’ve taking continuing education courses such as: the Advanced Program at Lauterstein Conway, Prenatal with Carole Osborne, and Anatomy Trains with Meredith Stephens.

How do you describe your massage/work to others?

I am a partner in your health and wellness! For relaxation massage, I use smooth, broad strokes to relax your nervous system. For pain relief I use deep, specific techniques and stretching to break up adhesions and restore mobility.

What are some examples of Continuing Education you are interested in and why?

I continually seek advancement in orthopedic, corrective techniques to provide informed relief for injuries and conditions.

What do you do to stay healthy?

I love running, yoga, group meditation, reading, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.

How has receiving massage affected you personally?

It transformed and continues to transform me mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I learn something new about myself with each session I receive.

What do you like about working at Myo Massage?

The mentorship! I am always learning!
